You say that you have a watermaker (type?), does it run on 12 V or do you have a 220 V generator?

I have a HRO and I am not too happy with it. It works on 12 V but needs a lot of power (about 40-50 Amps) so need to run the engine when using it. There are now better systems on the market... HRO is, I feel, rather outdated. I don't have a 220V generator.
