World Cruising Consultancy
Jimmy Cornell has started a consultancy to provide advice on voyage preparation and route planning for anyone intending to leave on a long voyage. In his work as organiser of international sailing events Jimmy has provided practical help to countless participants in one of his twenty transatlantic and five round the world rallies. In recent years he has given routing advice to visitors to www.noonsite.com, the preferred website of cruising sailors worldwide. The aim of his new project is to provide personally tailored advice to anyone planning to undertake a long offshore voyage. The consultancy service can be extended to provide support and advice during a voyage by providing up to date information on the countries to be visited such as: formalities and visa requirements , repair and other facilities, safety precautions and critical areas to be avoided as well as emergency assistance. In the last 35 years Jimmy Cornell has sailed 200,000 miles in all oceans of the world including three circumnavigations as well as voyages to Antarctica, Alaska and Spitsbergen. As the respected magazine Yachting World pointed out in a review of his latest book, A Passion for the Sea, “what Jimmy Cornell doesn’t know about cruising is not worth knowing”.
