Gwenda Cornell and her husband Jimmy spent three years in the Pacific during a six-year circumnavigation.
Whilst Jimmy has written about the practical aspects of long-distance cruising, helping others to achieve their dreams, Gwenda has written about the same routes and destinations from the viewpoint of someone fascinated by the people and places found there.
She initially qualified as a pharmacologist but became a teacher in order to educate their two children during the family’s voyage around the world.
Since returning she has worked as a freelance writer, editor and copy editor for Jimmy Cornell’s books.
Using her experience of bringing up and educating her family at sea, she wrote Cruising With Children (Adlard Coles Nautical 1986, 1992) now out of print.
